The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यतो वाचो निवर्तन्ते न निवर्तन्त एव वा ।
विधयः प्रतिषेधाश्च भावाभावदृशस्तथा ॥ २० ॥

yato vāco nivartante na nivartanta eva vā |
vidhayaḥ pratiṣedhāśca bhāvābhāvadṛśastathā || 20 ||

He whom no words can define, and yet who defines the senses of words; who is subject to no law or prohibition, or to any state or condition of being, but appoints them for all sorts of beings, is indeed the only Lord of all.
