The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कुन्ददन्त उवाच ।
ततः पृष्टो मया तत्र स गौर्याश्रमतापसः ।
तापसंशुष्कदर्भाग्रजराजर्जरमूर्धजः ॥ १ ॥

kundadanta uvāca |
tataḥ pṛṣṭo mayā tatra sa gauryāśramatāpasaḥ |
tāpasaṃśuṣkadarbhāgrajarājarjaramūrdhajaḥ || 1 ||

Kunda-danta rejoined:—I then asked the hermit of Gauri's asylum, whose head was hoary with age, and whose hair resembled the dried blades of withered grass.
