The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

वधूनां ते सुतानां च गच्छतस्तपसार्जिताः ।
विपरीता भविष्यन्ति लब्धा अपि महावराः ॥ ४९ ॥

vadhūnāṃ te sutānāṃ ca gacchatastapasārjitāḥ |
viparītā bhaviṣyanti labdhā api mahāvarāḥ || 49 ||

For this act of thy negligence, the boons so dearly earned by thy sons and daughters in law will go for nothing, and will be attained with their contrary effect.
