The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

इत्युक्त्वा विररामासौ गौर्या गीर्गगनोदरे ।
मेघमालाध्वनिरिव निरवद्यसमुद्यता ॥ ४० ॥

ityuktvā virarāmāsau gauryā gīrgaganodare |
meghamālādhvaniriva niravadyasamudyatā || 40 ||

Saying so, the goddess Gauri held her silence in the midst of the air; as the sound of the clouds is stopped, after its betokening the welfare of the world.
