The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.178.32

तयोस्ते तनया दुःखकलिता विपिनं गताः ।
कृतौर्ध्वदेहिकास्त्यक्त्वा व्यवहारं समाधये ॥ ३२ ॥

tayoste tanayā duḥkhakalitā vipinaṃ gatāḥ |
kṛtaurdhvadehikāstyaktvā vyavahāraṃ samādhaye || 32 ||

The sons then performed the funeral ceremonies, and in sorrow for their deceased sire, they left their home and domestic duties and retired to the woods for holy devotion.
