The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वभावस्य स्वभावोऽसौ किल कारणमित्यपि ।
यदुच्यते स्वभावस्य सा पर्यायोक्तिकल्पना ॥ २९ ॥

svabhāvasya svabhāvo'sau kila kāraṇamityapi |
yaducyate svabhāvasya sā paryāyoktikalpanā || 29 ||

It is nature says the naturalist, which is the cause of all events but as nothing result from the nature of anything, without its combination with another; it is too indeterminate in its sense.
