The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.177.3

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
यद्यथा कल्पितं येन स संपश्यति तत्तथा ।
कल्पनैवान्यथा न स्यात्तादृक्कारणविच्युतेः ॥ ३ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
yadyathā kalpitaṃ yena sa saṃpaśyati tattathā |
kalpanaivānyathā na syāttādṛkkāraṇavicyuteḥ || 3 ||

Vasishtha replied:—Rama, I am not speaking of common practice of men, for the production of anything by application of its proper causalities; but of the creation of the world, which is not in need of the atomic principle and material elements, as it is maintained by atomist.
