The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अनर्थेनाविचारेण वयः कुर्यान्न भस्मसात् ।
बोधेन ज्ञानसारेण दृश्यं कर्तव्यमात्मसात् ॥ ७७ ॥

anarthenāvicāreṇa vayaḥ kuryānna bhasmasāt |
bodhena jñānasāreṇa dṛśyaṃ kartavyamātmasāt || 77 ||

Do not spend your time in false reasoning, nor offer your precious life to fame and ashes; but let your sapient understanding commit the visibles to the invisible soul.
