The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अन्यथानुपपत्त्या चेत्कारणं परिकल्प्यते ।
तत्स्वप्नाभो जगद्भावादन्यथा नोपपद्यते ॥ ४० ॥

anyathānupapattyā cetkāraṇaṃ parikalpyate |
tatsvapnābho jagadbhāvādanyathā nopapadyate || 40 ||

Should the impossibility of existence, lead us to the supposition of some cause as of the primary atoms and the like; then what cause can there be assigned to the appearance of sights in our dream.
