The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

न शाम्यति तपस्तीर्थैर्भ्रान्तिर्नाम कदाचन ।
तपस्तीर्थादिना स्वर्गाः प्राप्यन्ते न तु मुक्तता ॥ २६ ॥

na śāmyati tapastīrthairbhrāntirnāma kadācana |
tapastīrthādinā svargāḥ prāpyante na tu muktatā || 26 ||

No religious austerity nor pilgrimage, is ever able to remove our error of the world; they can at the best procure for us the reward of heaven, but never secure unto us our liberation or final beatitude.
