The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

दृष्टमप्यस्ति यन्नेशे न चात्मनि विचारितम् ।
अन्यथानुपपत्त्यान्तर्भ्रान्त्यात्म स्वप्नशैलवत् ॥ ९ ॥

dṛṣṭamapyasti yanneśe na cātmani vicāritam |
anyathānupapattyāntarbhrāntyātma svapnaśailavat || 9 ||

It is better to judge the soul and other attribute by near example, than by the far off; otherwise it is like a fall from the top of a hill in a dream.
