The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

एवमाद्यः प्रजानाथो निराकारो निरामयः ।
चिन्मात्ररूपसंकल्पपुरवत्कारणोज्झितः ॥ २० ॥

evamādyaḥ prajānātho nirākāro nirāmayaḥ |
cinmātrarūpasaṃkalpapuravatkāraṇojjhitaḥ || 20 ||

Thus the prime lord of creatures, was the formless and undecaying mind; it was of intellectual form like an imaginary being, and supposed as the cause of all.
