The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यद्यत्संवेद्यते किंचित्तत्स्वभावं स्वभावयत् ।
तेनावभासते योऽर्थस्तस्य स्मृत्यभिधा कृता ॥ २१ ॥

yadyatsaṃvedyate kiṃcittatsvabhāvaṃ svabhāvayat |
tenāvabhāsate yo'rthastasya smṛtyabhidhā kṛtā || 21 ||

Whatever is known to us is nature, and the same is the object of our meditation. Hence the appearance of any thing (in the mind), is called to be its remembrance.
