The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यस्य त्वेष स्वभावः स्यान्न नाम न स तत्त्ववित् ।
एतदेवाज्ञताचिह्नं यदिच्छा प्रकृतेतरा ॥ ५५ ॥

yasya tveṣa svabhāvaḥ syānna nāma na sa tattvavit |
etadevājñatācihnaṃ yadicchā prakṛtetarā || 55 ||

He is not by his nature, of this disposition of his mind, ever ignorant of truth; and ignorance of this truth, is the sign of a character, that [is] inclined to base desires.
