The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जनं प्रियंवदं कुर्वत्प्रियमेव समाचरत् ।
पेशलं मधुरं स्निग्धमक्षुब्धमुदिताशयम् ॥ १२ ॥

janaṃ priyaṃvadaṃ kurvatpriyameva samācarat |
peśalaṃ madhuraṃ snigdhamakṣubdhamuditāśayam || 12 ||

He speaks and behaves kindly with all men, and doth them good only;and his words are always sweet and cooling, and without interested or selfish view.
