Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.163.55

अनार्यमिदमाख्यानमित्यनादृत्य दृश्यधीः ।
मा भवंत्वात्महन्तारो भवन्तो भवभागिनः ॥ ५५ ॥

anāryamidamākhyānamityanādṛtya dṛśyadhīḥ |
mā bhavaṃtvātmahantāro bhavanto bhavabhāginaḥ || 55 ||

The materialist who is conversant with the visibles, disparages this book for its occult teachings of spiritualism; but don't you be the killer of your souls as to neglect your eternal salvation, in order to revisit this material world, and to be busied with your temporal affairs.
