The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.157.35

ततः कथमिदं जन्म कुतः संसार आगतः ।
इत्थं विचारसांतत्यात्स यास्यति विमुक्तताम् ॥ ३५ ॥

tataḥ kathamidaṃ janma kutaḥ saṃsāra āgataḥ |
itthaṃ vicārasāṃtatyātsa yāsyati vimuktatām || 35 ||

Then from his inquiries into the mysteries of his life and birth, and into the causes of his confinement in this world, he obtained the knowledge of his liberation from it.
