The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.157.27

सिन्धुर्वदिष्यति ।
आर्योदाहर केनैषा प्राग्जातिर्जीयतेऽधमा ।
यावत्तथैव तिष्ठामि स्याच्चेत्तद्वद पावनम् ॥ २७ ॥

sindhurvadiṣyati |
āryodāhara kenaiṣā prāgjātirjīyate'dhamā |
yāvattathaiva tiṣṭhāmi syāccettadvada pāvanam || 27 ||

Sindhu will then say in his response said:—Tell me sir, how can I divest myself of this inborn vile nature of my soul; that I may learn to abide by thy counsel, and try to purify my soul and rectify the conduct of my life.
