The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.156.30

मन्त्री वदिष्यति ।
अशुभः प्राक्तनोऽभ्यासस्तवास्ति रिपुघातिनः ।
तेनैषा मुक्तये नत्वा त्वया न प्रार्थिता विभो ॥ ३० ॥

mantrī vadiṣyati |
aśubhaḥ prāktano'bhyāsastavāsti ripughātinaḥ |
tenaiṣā muktaye natvā tvayā na prārthitā vibho || 30 ||

To this the minister will reply saying said:—The propensity of doing evil (or slaughter), being inherent in your nature (from your past profession of huntsmanship), you neglected to stoop down to the goddess, and pray unto her for your liberation.
