The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.150.38

तपस्तामरसोष्णांशुः कल्याणकमलाकरः ।
ज्ञानाब्जस्य हरेर्नाभिर्नास्ति तावदयं भवान् ॥ ३८ ॥

tapastāmarasoṣṇāṃśuḥ kalyāṇakamalākaraḥ |
jñānābjasya harernābhirnāsti tāvadayaṃ bhavān || 38 ||

Know then that as it is the sunlight that expands the lotus blossoms in the lake, so it is the enlightening beams of Brahma only that developes the lotus of understanding, and that you can know nothing of yourself.
