The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

गन्धर्वपुरदृष्टान्तस्याप्यवस्तुतया समम् ।
जागरायां हि किल तद्भ्रान्तमप्युपलभ्यते ॥ १२ ॥

gandharvapuradṛṣṭāntasyāpyavastutayā samam |
jāgarāyāṃ hi kila tadbhrāntamapyupalabhyate || 12 ||

The instance of the fairy land is exactly alike to that of this world, in respect of the unreality of both; and it is the same error which occurs to us in our dream, [that] possesses us also even in our waking state of dreaming.
