The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यदेन्द्रियाणि तिष्ठन्ति बाह्यतश्च समाकुलम् ।
तदा म्लानानुभवनः संकल्पार्थोऽनुभूयते ॥ २ ॥

yadendriyāṇi tiṣṭhanti bāhyataśca samākulam |
tadā mlānānubhavanaḥ saṃkalpārtho'nubhūyate || 2 ||

When the outer senses are busily employed with outward objects, then the perceptions of mental objects and inner functions become faint and fainter by degrees.
