The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.143.44

खात्मा खमेव तत्रैव स्वप्नाभं दृश्यमाहरन् ।
पुनः स्वमरणं वेत्ति पुनर्जन्म पुनर्जगत् ॥ ४४ ॥

khātmā khameva tatraiva svapnābhaṃ dṛśyamāharan |
punaḥ svamaraṇaṃ vetti punarjanma punarjagat || 44 ||

The soul is an aerial and vacuous substance, giving rise to the phantoms of visibles, in the forms of shadowy dreams in its spacious vacuity; and always views its births and deaths in endless repetitions in this world.
