The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.142.27

यथा ब्रह्मादयो भान्ति सर्गादौ ब्रह्मरूपिणः ।
भान्ति जीवास्तथान्येऽपि शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ॥ २७ ॥

yathā brahmādayo bhānti sargādau brahmarūpiṇaḥ |
bhānti jīvāstathānye'pi śataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ || 27 ||

As the great Brahma and others, were the manifestations of the supreme Brahma in the beginning, so there have been many thousands more that were manifested from the same divine essence, which are known as pure intelligences, and superior orders of beings.
