The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जगदालोक्य तत्तादृगुदक्तोपप्लवाप्लुतम् ।
भूतपूर्वमहीपीठस्थितिरक्तार्णवीकृतम् ॥ ३६ ॥

bhūtapūrvamahīpīṭhasthitiraktārṇavīkṛtam || 36 ||

The gods seeing the earth thus endangered by the portentous carcase and its surface converted to an extensive sheet or ocean of blood.
