The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

इत्युक्त्वा शुकपृष्ठेऽसावारोप्य भगवांस्ततः ।
देहैकदेशे तत्पाति भूतं दग्ध्वा नभः प्लुतः ॥ १२ ॥

ityuktvā śukapṛṣṭhe'sāvāropya bhagavāṃstataḥ |
dehaikadeśe tatpāti bhūtaṃ dagdhvā nabhaḥ plutaḥ || 12 ||

Saying so, he made me sit on the back of his parrot, and flew with me up to heaven; by burning athwart a part of the falling body.
