The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

देशं भूगोलकस्यास्य यं यमासादयन्ति च ।
इहेव तत्र तत्रोच्चैरधश्चोर्ध्वं तथा दिशः ॥ १७ ॥

deśaṃ bhūgolakasyāsya yaṃ yamāsādayanti ca |
iheva tatra tatroccairadhaścordhvaṃ tathā diśaḥ || 17 ||

Because whoever stands on any part of the globe, thinks it as the uppermost, and all other places on every side of it, to be lower than it; and so the antipodes below think themselves as upmost.
