The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.130.23

असौ मूर्त इवाभासो भासनाम्ना भविष्यति ।
सभास्थैः कैश्चिदित्युक्तं तेन भासः स उच्यते ॥ २३ ॥

asau mūrta ivābhāso bhāsanāmnā bhaviṣyati |
sabhāsthaiḥ kaiścidityuktaṃ tena bhāsaḥ sa ucyate || 23 ||

The courtiers also confirmed it by saying that, because he is as bright as brightness itself, let him be styled the “bright or Bhasa”, the name that he bore on him ever afterwards.
