The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
संकल्पपथिकत्वेन यथान्तःपुरवासिनः ।
इदं मनः प्रसरति तथास्य प्रसृतं मनः ॥ २२ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
saṃkalpapathikatvena yathāntaḥpuravāsinaḥ |
idaṃ manaḥ prasarati tathāsya prasṛtaṃ manaḥ || 22 ||

Vasishtha replied:—As desire drives the home-keeping man from his house, and as imagination leads the mind to many places and objects, so the mind of this prince was led from place to place.
