The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स पञ्चाशत्सहस्राणि योजनानां समुन्नतः ।
आलोकलोकाचाराढ्यो भाग एकोऽस्य नेतरः ॥ २६ ॥

sa pañcāśatsahasrāṇi yojanānāṃ samunnataḥ |
ālokalokācārāḍhyo bhāga eko'sya netaraḥ || 26 ||

It rises to the height of fifty thousand yojanas, and has the inhabited earth on one side of it which faces the sunlight, and eternal darkness reigning on the other.
