The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.116.12

आकाश काशसि तु यत्र शशाङ्कबिम्बं त्वत्कीर्णकज्जलतमो मलिनोऽसितत्वम् ।
सङ्गान्न यन्नयसि तत्खलु चित्रमुच्चैः को नाम वान्तरमलं मलिनीकरोति ॥ १२ ॥

ākāśa kāśasi tu yatra śaśāṅkabimbaṃ tvatkīrṇakajjalatamo malino'sitatvam |
saṅgānna yannayasi tatkhalu citramuccaiḥ ko nāma vāntaramalaṃ malinīkaroti || 12 ||

Thou dark blue sky, that art brightened by moon-light, dost yet retain thy blackness, like the black spot amidst the lightsome disk of the moon; and such is the wonder with ignorant minds, that with all their enlightenment, they will never get rid of their inward bias and prejudice.
