The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तालीतमालगहने दशार्णा जीर्णजङ्गले ।
गले पादं निधायान्तः कृत्ताः सिंहैर्गतासवः ॥ ७ ॥

tālītamālagahane daśārṇā jīrṇajaṅgale |
gale pādaṃ nidhāyāntaḥ kṛttāḥ siṃhairgatāsavaḥ || 7 ||

Those that fled to the tala and tamala forests, and to the old woods on the bank of the dasarna river; were caught by lions and tigers crouching in them; and were throttled to death under their feet.
