The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

महाचटचटाशब्दस्फुटद्रववृहद्द्रुमम् ।
नारीहलहलारावरणन्नगरमन्दिरम् ॥ ३७ ॥

mahācaṭacaṭāśabdasphuṭadravavṛhaddrumam |
nārīhalahalārāvaraṇannagaramandiram || 37 ||

There was the clapping of the arms and hands of the champions, resembling the splitting and bursting of great trees; and there was heard also the loud wailing of women, echoing amidst the lofty edifices of the city.
