The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चर उवाच ।
उत्तराशाबलाध्यक्षो देवारिभिरुपद्रुतः ।
इत आयाति सबलो भग्नसेत्वम्बुपूरवत् ॥ २१ ॥

cara uvāca |
uttarāśābalādhyakṣo devāribhirupadrutaḥ |
ita āyāti sabalo bhagnasetvambupūravat || 21 ||

He represented, saying:—O lord, the general of thy forces on the north, is overpowered by a stronger enemy, and is routed from his post, like an embankment broken down and borne away by the rushing waters.
