The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.103.33

आगच्छन्त्यां मृतौ कष्टं परितापमवाप्स्यथ ।
तं यत्राङ्गाङ्गविच्छेदः शीतचन्दनलेपनम् ॥ ३३ ॥

āgacchantyāṃ mṛtau kaṣṭaṃ paritāpamavāpsyatha |
taṃ yatrāṅgāṅgavicchedaḥ śītacandanalepanam || 33 ||

The approach of death, is attained with extreme pain and remorse; when the inner parts of the body are separated from the outer, which must be besmeared with dust as with the paste of sandal wood.
