The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.103.12

अन्यन्न संभवत्यत्र सर्गादावेव कारणम् ।
यन्नाम तदिदानीं स्यात्कथ्यतां कीदृशं कथम् ॥ १२ ॥

anyanna saṃbhavatyatra sargādāveva kāraṇam |
yannāma tadidānīṃ syātkathyatāṃ kīdṛśaṃ katham || 12 ||

There can be no other, which may be supposed as the prime cause of all, at the beginning of creation. Should there be any other that is supposed to be as such, let the doctrinaires now declare it before me.
