The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सहकारिनिमित्तानि यथा स्वप्ने न सन्ति वै ।
पृथिव्यादीनि भूतानि तथैवादौ जगत्स्थितेः ॥ ४४ ॥

sahakārinimittāni yathā svapne na santi vai |
pṛthivyādīni bhūtāni tathaivādau jagatsthiteḥ || 44 ||

There were no co-ordinate causes of material bodies (as earth, water &c.), at the first formation of the world; but it rose spontaneously of itself as the empty sights appearing in our dream.
