The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.100.32

यथावेदनमर्थेषु चित्त्वे देहक्षयात्क्षते ।
मृतिरेव परं श्रेयो दृष्टं नानुभवादिति ॥ ३२ ॥

yathāvedanamartheṣu cittve dehakṣayātkṣate |
mṛtireva paraṃ śreyo dṛṣṭaṃ nānubhavāditi || 32 ||

As the knowledge of sensible objects, keeps the mind in utter darkness; so the death of such persons is calculated as their final bliss, because they have [no] more to feel the sensibles nor view the visible world any more.
