The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.100.15

संवित्सत्यास्त्वसत्या वा तावन्मात्रः स्मृतः पुमान् ।
स यथानिश्चयो नूनं तत्सत्यमिति निश्चयः ॥ १५ ॥

saṃvitsatyāstvasatyā vā tāvanmātraḥ smṛtaḥ pumān |
sa yathāniścayo nūnaṃ tatsatyamiti niścayaḥ || 15 ||

Whether our consciousness is a real entity or not, yet it is this power which is called the conscious soul; and whatever is the conviction of this power, the same is received as positive truth by all.
