Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.99.42

एवं मात्रापरिज्ञानमेवात्र प्रतिबोधकम् ।
अत्रैव तु परिज्ञानं कवाटप्रविघाटनम् ॥ ४२ ॥

evaṃ mātrāparijñānamevātra pratibodhakam |
atraiva tu parijñānaṃ kavāṭapravighāṭanam || 42 ||

It is sheer ignorance, which is devoid of this spiritual knowledge, and views things in their physical light only; and in this lies the true knowledge, which breaks open the door of ignorance.
