The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.94.23

द्वयोस्तु सिद्धयोः सिद्धविरुद्धेप्सितयोर्मिथः ।
अधिकैकावदातात्मा जयी पुरुषयत्नवान् ॥ २३ ॥

dvayostu siddhayoḥ siddhaviruddhepsitayormithaḥ |
adhikaikāvadātātmā jayī puruṣayatnavān || 23 ||

But when two persons are engaged in the same pursuit, or one of them is opposed to the views of the other; the attempt of the more arduous is crowned with success, and that of the weaker meets with its failure.
