The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जीर्यन्ते जीर्यतः केशा हुत्वा जीर्यन्ति जीर्यतः ।
क्षीयते जीर्यते सर्वं तृष्णैवैका न जीर्यते ॥ ८६ ॥

jīryante jīryataḥ keśā hutvā jīryanti jīryataḥ |
kṣīyate jīryate sarvaṃ tṛṣṇaivaikā na jīryate || 86 ||

Our bodies are decaying in time, and our hairs are turning grey with age, and the teeth are falling off; thus all things are worn out in the world, except our desires, which know no decrease or decay.
