संस्थया स्थापिता भूमिः प्रकोष्ठे वलयोपमा ॥ ४६ ॥

samudramudrayā saptadvīpasaptātmarūpayā |
saṃsthayā sthāpitā bhūmiḥ prakoṣṭhe valayopamā || 46 ||

The earth is situated with the seven seas, surrounding the seven great islands (continents); as so many wristlets are encircled about the wrists of men.
