The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

क्वचित्कज्जलजालस्य ज्वालाकनकदाकृते ।
खेदिना घनकूर्माभं सङ्गेनैव स्वकोटरे ॥ ३७ ॥

kvacitkajjalajālasya jvālākanakadākṛte |
khedinā ghanakūrmābhaṃ saṅgenaiva svakoṭare || 37 ||

Being then exhausted as the extinguished lamp, I became as dark as collyrium; and slept silently in my own cell, like a tortoise with its contracted limbs.
