223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.87.50

असदेवेदमाभाति हृद्येव जगदाततम् ।
संकल्पनमनोराज्यं यथा स्वप्नपुरादिवत् ॥ ५० ॥

asadevedamābhāti hṛdyeva jagadātatam |
saṃkalpanamanorājyaṃ yathā svapnapurādivat || 50 ||

The unreal appears, as the real extended world to the mind; in the same manner as the imaginary utopia appears before it, and as a city is seen in the dream of a sleeping man.
