The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.83.12

यथा चिद्व्योम्नि कचति स्व एवात्मा तथा पटे ।
तथा कचति तत्तत्र कल्पान्तानलनर्तने ॥ १२ ॥

yathā cidvyomni kacati sva evātmā tathā paṭe |
tathā kacati tattatra kalpāntānalanartane || 12 ||

The soul exhibits itself in its intellectual sphere, in the same manner as a figure is seen in picture; and the soul manifests also in the raging fire of final destruction.
