The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.82.3

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
नासौ पुमान्न चासौ स्त्री न तन्नृत्तं न तावुभौ ।
तथाभूते तथाचारे आकृती न च ते तयोः ॥ ३ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
nāsau pumānna cāsau strī na tannṛttaṃ na tāvubhau |
tathābhūte tathācāre ākṛtī na ca te tayoḥ || 3 ||

Vasishtha replied:—Neither is he a male, nor is she a female; nor was there a dancing of the one, or a duality of the two (in their spirit); such being the case (of their unity), and such the nature of their action (of destruction); neither of them any form, or figure of their own.
