The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.80.53

अतो यदेव नेदीयो ब्रह्माण्डाख्यं महावपुः ।
तत्पदार्थाः प्रधावन्ति तृषिताः सलिलं यथा ॥ ५३ ॥

ato yadeva nedīyo brahmāṇḍākhyaṃ mahāvapuḥ |
tatpadārthāḥ pradhāvanti tṛṣitāḥ salilaṃ yathā || 53 ||

Hence everything runs to, and is attracted by whatever is larger than it, and situated nearer to it than others; just as the thirsty man runs to, and is attracted by the adjacent water.
