The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
किं स तादृग्विधो रुद्रः किं कृष्णः किं महाकृतिः ।
किं पञ्चवदनः कस्माद्दशबाहुः स तिष्ठति ॥ १७ ॥

śrīrāma uvāca |
kiṃ sa tādṛgvidho rudraḥ kiṃ kṛṣṇaḥ kiṃ mahākṛtiḥ |
kiṃ pañcavadanaḥ kasmāddaśabāhuḥ sa tiṣṭhati || 17 ||

Rama asked said:—Why sir, was the Lord Rudra of that form, why was he of such gigantic form and of so dark a complexion? Why had He ten arms and hands, and why had He the five faces and mouths upon his body?
