The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ततस्त्रिशूलनयनैर्मया रुद्रोऽयमित्यसौ ।
दूरादेव परिज्ञाय परमेशो नमस्कृतः ॥ १६ ॥

tatastriśūlanayanairmayā rudro'yamityasau |
dūrādeva parijñāya parameśo namaskṛtaḥ || 16 ||

I knew him from a distance, and by the indications of his triple eyes and trident, to be the Lord Rudra himself; and then bowed down to him, as the great God of all.
